Shining Rock Ventures is pleased to be a partner of the CIFAR Alliance through the fractional leadership role of Principal & CEO Jesse Fripp as Co-Lead of the CIFAR Alliance Secretariat, hosted by BFA Global.
Through knowledge-building, collective action, entrepreneurial ecosystem development and investment acceleration, the CIFAR Alliance aims to catalyze investment of $250 billion toward enabling at least 1 billion of the worlds most vulnerable people to have access to the tools of financial choice and control to survive and thrive through the climate crisis, by 2030.
Most recently, Jesse supported the CIFAR Alliance Climate Smart Innovation Hub briefing, hosted by the MasterCard Center for Inclusive Growth (MC CIG) as part of New York Climate Week in Manhattan on September 19th, 2023. Nearly thirty leading institutional participants in the climate resilience and adaptation space gathered to participate in the ‘reveal’ of the Introduction to CIFAR Alliance video that will feature at the Resilience Hub at COP28, review the Climate Smart Innovation Hub launch, and the initiation of the Universal Climate Resilience Initiative.
Upcoming Road to COP28 events sponsored by the CIFAR Alliance with support of Shining Rock Ventures will include Financial Inclusion Week, Gender and Equity Roundtable, and the virtual agenda for the COP28 Resilience Hub events.
The CIFAR Alliance includes fifteen current members - BFA Global, PayPal, World Resources Institute, UN Race to Resilience, UN Better Than Cash Alliance, CGAP/World Bank, British International Investment, GSMA Foundation, MasterCard CIG, Financial Services Deepening - Africa, Mercy Corps Ventures, Catalyst Fund, MicroSave Consulting, Climate Collective and Bursara, with IUCN in Observer status.
